Great Lakes Music Together

Music Together® began in 1987 as an educational project of the Center for Music and Young Children¨ in Princeton, NJ. The program, which is designed for children birth (yes, birth!) to seven years, is based on the premise that all children are musical and have the same natural ability to learn music as language. At Music Together we believe that music ability is as much a basic life skill as walking and talking and that all children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate in music with pleasure and confidence. We nurture the child’s natural enthusiasm for music and movement as we sing, dance, chant, and play instruments in an informal setting that will enrich their musical environment and guide them towards a lifetime of music making enjoyment.

Great Lakes Music Together offers classes to the Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and Wellington regions, helping families and communities to make music together and to connect through music in a joyful and fulfilling way. Our hope is that children will build a lifelong musical foundation that includes participating in music-making in as many ways as they would like to. A strong musical foundation enables children to continue their music and movement journey successfully, through dance, individual instrument instruction, musical ensembles, choirs, impromptu music-making and more!
